I have paid for Dr.Web e-license by my credit card several days ago, but still did not receive a serial number. What should I do?

If, in 12 hours after your payment, you did not receive the Dr.Web e-license, check the following:

  • If you indicated you freemail address in the order form

Check if your account is active. Its term might expire, its quota might be exceeded, it also can be temporary unavailable, or the message could be blocked by a spam filter installed by your ISP. If this is the reason for the delay in delivery, write to support@avangate.com or call Avangate's hotline at +31 88 0000008 (phone support for the online order process) and ask to send you your Dr.Web e-license again.

  • If your home computer is shared with your child or other relatives

Ask your child, if such message was received. Check your Waste basket, your kid could have unintentionally destroyed it. He or she might also have registered and received your license key file for Dr.Web himself! Anyhow, write to support@avangate.com or call Avangate's hotline at +31 88 0000008 (phone support for the online order process) and ask to send you your Dr.Web e-license again.

What should I do first — register my Dr.Web serial number and receive a key file, or download and install the Dr.Web anti-virus?

It makes no difference what your first step is. But let us describe all possible situations.

  1. You have downloaded and installed the Dr.Web anti-virus with a trial key. You used it for 30 days (a free trial period). When 30 days expired, and all the components of the anti-virus became disabled, you bough a license key file.

Establish connection with the Internet and visit our registration page. Now, you will need a registration serial number. Input the serial number into appropriate fields, as well as your personal data; pay special attention to email address, as the license key file will be sent to it. If you have typed in a correct serial number, you will receive via email a license key file attached to the message.

  2. You have downloaded and installed Dr.Web anti-virus with a trial key. You used it for less than 30 days and bough a license key file.

In the right bottom corner of your computer screen (system tray) find an icon which looks like a green spider and right click it with a mouse.
In the opened contextual menu choose the "Register" item. A warning message will be displayed. Read the message and press the "Next" button.
A "Registration:Step 1" window will appear. Select the "Register now" radio button and then "Get license key file". The entry fields for inputting your serial number will become visible. Input the serial number and press "Next".
A "Registration:Step 2" window will appear. Fill in appropriate fields. Establish Internet connection and then press "Next".
A "Registration:Step 3" window will appear. Wait for several seconds while the Dr.Web automatic updating utility will contact our server, transfer the data of your serial number and send to your computer and install there a license key file. Press "Finish".
    The registration is successfully completed!

  3. You have bought an e-license for Dr.Web, but the program is not downloaded and installed yet.

You may download and install the anti-virus and then receive a key file, as it is described in p.2 of this question. You may also first register a serial member and receive a key file. Unzip and save this key file into known to you location. Download the distribution kit with the anti-virus and then place your key file to the Dr.Web installation directory - C:\Program Files\DrWeb.
